American Civil War Foot Artillery sword, 1832 model. The cross guard is stamped H.K.C. (Henry Knox Craig) U.S. government military arms inspector 1835-1861. The opposite side of the guard is marked O R D. The hilt of the sword is made of two pieces of bronze riveted on the finials of the cross guard and on the grip. An American eagle is deeply engraved on both sides of the pommel. The blade is slightly pitted. The length of the entire sword is 25 inches. The length of the blade is 19 inches.
