Rare supersize (415mm in diameter) Peranakan water basin, decorated on a green background with the upper-side featuring phoenix amongst peonies & rockery & in flight circling the basin. Circa 1960, some scratches is visible on the surface, but otherwise a well taken cared Peranakan Porcelain. A rare super-size.

For the Chinese these nyonya peranakan ware are auspicious symbols of prosperity and good fortune. Such wares were popular in Asean country mainly in the Straight.
