Winsted Socket Gouge Chisel 1/2 inch Witherby

$28.00
Quantity available: 1

This is a nice, clean socket gouge chisel that is marked "T. H. WITHERBY" on the in-channel side and "WINSTED EDGE TOOL WORKS" on the out-channel side. Both Witherby and Winsted are well known edge tool makers, both located in Millbury which is only about 2 miles from Winsted MA, and it is known that Witherby was an associate of Winsted Edge Tool Works, but few tools have both marks on them, like this one. This chisel is .52" wide x 13.2" long overall, the steel alone is 8.65" long. This in-channel sharpened gouge chisel is sharp and ready to use, no rust or damage. The hardwood handle is solid, and fits good, no cracks, very nice condition with the leather capped end. A nice long, sharp chisel, made to hold a good sharp edge!
