This is a nice clean antique 3/8" wide x 8" long tanged center pointed carving chisel marked "W. BUTCHER CAST STEEL" on the steel. It came with a group of 19th century English chisels that I purchased together, with the British export symbols also marked on the steel opposite the maker's mark. Nice quality cast steel, good solid hardwood handle (good brass ferrule), sharp and ready to use.
