 VINTAGE 1950S HAKATA URASAKI SAMURAI DOLL FIGURINE HAND-PAINTED IN JAPAN

   measures 9" in height and 6" in width at his knees. It was made in the 1950s by the Hakata Urasaki Dolls Company exclusively for Napco company. It depicts a samurai in a sitting position with a sword in hand, and comes with a handmade mat on which he sits. The Hakata Urasaki dolls made of a very fine terracotta and are exquisitely hand-painted.   It has been broken and repaired.   The head and the right arm / shoulder has been broken off and re-glued.   There are other chips in the paint here and there.   It comes with the mat.
