Vintage Sterling Goddess necklace 40ct amethyst art deco moon and stars pendant

 

Loaded with genuine amethyst,  This fabulous sterling festton bib necklace has a gorgeous art deco woman with  an ornate headdress and long flowing hair. She has the moon at her neck and is solid and well made. The necklace measures up to 27" long ( it has an extender) and the bib measures 2" long on the longest point. Add to that an additional 2" drop for the nouveau goddess and you have a really dramatic piece. This is in great shape and is marked 925 on the clasp.   This antique necklace is one of the most dramatic ones I have ever had to sell. It is heavy with hand wrought metal work that forms this HUGE collar and it has hand cut stones ( they look like rubies and emeralds but I can't say for sure). Each stone is a little different and has very little faceting. The width of this massive necklace on each side is almost 3" and is has a sacred heart in the center. A large ornate medieval cross that measures 3 1/4" long hangs from the heart. You can wear this shorter or longer because it has a hand wrought extender chain. The shortest it can go ( measuring the inside of the necklace) is 18" and the longest is 26". This looks like a renaissance collar that has two half moon ends that are like antique windows. This is in very good condition with one less drop and one stone missing.
