This is a Vintage Relic Relicquary Catacombe de St. Calliste Rome Catholic Postcard. The postcard is Titled with, "Souvenir Des Catacombes De St. Calliste". It also shows Via Appia Antica-33 ROMA. There are three separate pictures on the front. The catacombes, three politicians and and a Saint or Jesus. On the back it is non circulated. The Appian Way (Latin and Italian: Via Appia) was one of the earliest and strategically most important Roman roads of the ancient republic. It connected Rome to Brindisi, Apulia, in southeast Italy. Its importance is indicated by its common name, Regina Viarum or built by Ancient Romans. The VIA APPIA was the <> of ancient Rome. Here, from the first centuries the largest labyrinths of underground Christian cemeteries in all of Rome were built. Aside from these, there are innumerable hypogea and minor catacombs for private use which are not available or yet to be discovered written records can tell us about.
