This is a very rare digital speed indicator or tachometer marked "THE VEEDER MFG. CO. HARTFORD CONN. U.S.A. VEEDER PATENTED NOV. 5 1907. It is 5.5" long x .90" diameter, and comes with one removable rubber and steel tip. This tachometer is in great shape, no sign of wear, works perfectly.  What is left of the original box is included, the box is missing the end flaps and show lots of wear, but still has some text and images that can be seen, plus it has kept the included instructions together with the speed indicator, and you can still read the original instructions too!  An excellent tool!  The best of these we have had to offer over the past 15+ years!

To use, you take a reading, turn the motor on with the tip centered on the main shaft, it is in neutral until you push the larger diameter part of the gauge forward toward the shaft. Apply for 1 minute, and take a reading, then subtract the new reading from the first reading, now you have your rotations per minute. A nicely made all metal enclosed gage, with glass over the readout. Overall in very good condition, there is two small initials lightly marked on the one side. In very good working condition! A hard to find early digital instrument!
