Our sculpture by the Mexican artist, Augusto Ortega Escobedo (1914-1995), is crafted from carved onyx stone mounted on a black onyx stone pedestal. The sculpture alone measures 16 inches tall, and the entire piece 19.5 inches tall and 8.5 inches wide.

Label on underside, dated 1968, is from the Galeria Arte de Coleccionistas, located on Paseo de la Reforma, one of the most prestigious galleries of its kind and era in Mexico City.
