Our Viennese box, circa 1880s, is crafted from silver with gold wash and enameled decorations to the gothic style filigree designs surrounding the edges of the base and lid, plus the legs depicting winged gargoyles.  With the .800 purity Austrian assay mark depicting Diana's profile within cartouche with five petals with letter "A" for Vienna.  This mark was in use from around 1872 to 1922.
