Our client's magnificent gold snuff box by Remond Lamy & Cie of Geneva, circa 1815, features an enamel plaque depicting the allegory of Sacred and Profane Love after the original oil painting by Guido Reni (1575-1664), with a chased gold border and sides and base with panels of translucent blue enamel over a peacock feather engine turned ground.  3 3/4 inches wide. 9.5 x 6.7 x 1.6 cm, 3 3/4 x 3 5/8 by 1 5/8 in. With the maker's mark, RL&C. and later control mark.

Its in very good condition.  There are light scratches and minor nicks to the rim, consistent with age, use and good care.  There is a small enamel loss to the rear panel along the top rim and a small enamel chip on the front near the top left corner.
