Fabulous Sterling Silver FAT 1/2 hoop earrings with Sugilite cabs. The length of the earring are 1 1/2" long. The cabs are 3/8" in diameter.

The condition of the stones is excellent. The sterling silver has some patina. The post on one of the earrings is crooked. The crookedness should not pose a problem is wearing. It gives away that the earrings on not new.

The use of Sugilite in jewelery is fairly new. It is considered the "New Age" gems. It is mined in Africa and found only in a very few other places in the world. It was named after a Japanese Geologist by the name of Sugi who discovered it in 1944.
