This is a quality made 4 piece No. 434 combination square set including:
Starrett square head in very good condition with no scriber, a square head that was offered in the early 1900's. It has no original paint intact. It has a good working level.  We note minimal wear, a few small spots have minor pitting, no rust, no damage.  The square head is marked "STARRETT HARDENED".
Starrett protractor head marked "THE L.S. STARRETT CO. ATHOL MASS. U.S.A. NO. 12" on one side.  It has 90% of it's original paint intact, very nice, clean narrow model! Good working level. Only 7/16 thick. No rust, some minor dings and scratches, very little minor pitting.
Starrett Hardened 12" rule, marked "THE L.S.STARRETT CO. ATHOL MASS. U.S.A. HARDENED" and has good inch graduations markings on both sides, 8ths & 16ths inch on one side, 32nds & 64ths inch on the other side. This rule is in good useable condition, with nice crisp edges, 95% clean bare metal surfaces, a few tiny edge dings noted with some pitting on it, in a few place, looks pretty good overall.  No rust or damage.
The fourth piece is the a nice clean center head with about 90% original paint intact, good clean bare metal surfaces. It is marked "HARDENED" on one side. A very nice older center head!
A nice early precision square / protractor set overall! Used for more than 2 generations of toolmaker's, and still in good working condition! No owner's marks on any of three pieces but the hardened rule has a light previous owner's mark on one side. Quality made, well cared for!
