Stanley No. 4 Smooth Plane 1920's Sweetheart

Unavailable

Offering this very nice clean smooth plane marked "STANLEY SW MADE IN U.S.A." with a sweetheart logo on the cutter, also marked "U.S. PAT. APR 19 10" on the bed, and "BAILEY NO. 4" on the toe. This plane is 9.3" long, has about 90% original Japanning intact, a good sharp 2 inch wide cutter - about 90% intact, no cracks or chips on the metal, a few minor dings, the bottom is smooth and clean, no rust anywhere. A good clean cap cover that has only a few tiny dings. All the hardware and adjustment work fine. The rosewood handle is very good solid condition, very nice finish, only a few minor dings noted. The front knob is in very good solid condition, very nice.  Neither has cracks, but we note a few minor dings.  A nice ready to use plane by a top quality maker!  One of the best I have seen from this era!
