This is a unique antique tool sometimes called a squirrel tail plane because the interesting rear handle is shaped a bit like a squirrels tail. This one has about 99% of what appears to be the original Japanning on it. The casting on the plane is a bit rough in a few areas, but the important parts are in great shape. I really enjoy using this style plane as it's small, easy to set up and use. It also stores well, you can hang it from a hook. The cutter is 1.3" wide, the plane is 6" long overall. A great old tool!
