Speednut Chicago Mfg. 8" Adjustable Wrench
This is a good clean 8" long adjustable combination wrench marked "8IN FORGED SPEEDNUT STEEL PAT. 1602620 1830033 MFG. BY CHICAGO MFG. CO. CHICAGO U.S.A.". This is a speed wrench that is spring loaded to return to the smaller nut size, or while in use to the size nut you are attaching it to. The spring load can be turned off via a pin the can be pushed in and a spring tension lever released on the side of the wrench just behind the pivot pin. When pressure is applied to turning the wrench, the jaw automatically holds firmly on the nut. Works good! The wrench is in good shape overall with some minor pitting on it, no rust, and some wear on the jaw edges noted. In very good working order, with a capacity of 1/2"-1 1/8" max. An interesting old wrench!
