Shelton Jack Plane No. 14 Nice!

Unavailable

This is a very nice quality iron Jack plane from the 1950-60's era! It measures 13.5" long x 2" wide cutter. As you can see in the pictures, it is in very good used condition! It is marked "SHELTON" on the toe, on the lateral lever, blade and cap cover, and marked No. 14 behind the front knob, and "MADE IN U.S.A." on the heel, and cutter. Features over 98% original Japanning intact, sharp cutter near full length, nice solid hardwood handle and knob, clean bare iron surfaces, no cracks, no wear noted. We do note a small round casting void (a minor manufacturing imperfection) on the sole, behind the cutter mouth, I can't see where is would cause any problem with use. It does have the lateral control and depth adjustment features, plus the frog position adjustment. This plane is about the best one I have seen in jack planes by Shelton! Very nice quality, and features, all in great working order! A a very nice, rarely seen vintage plane! Recommended!
