Sevres Style Porcelain Vases Depicting Roman Goddesses Aurora and Luna

Unavailable

Our pair of gilded and hand-painted porcelain vases, each with spurious Sevres hallmarks, feature the exceptionally painted figures of the Roman godesses Aurora and Luna, each riding a chariot.

Condition of each is very good. There are light scratches, nicks and light rubbing wear, and an apparent restoration to the corner of one base, with cracks visible on top, side and underside. The lid shown on the right in our last photo has a very old restoration apparent when comparing the undersides of each. It has blistered from the original porcelain surface, but is intact and looks nice. Its surface is smooth from edge to edge, while on the unrestored lid on the left is visible the ribbing in the original design.
