Simply bold and lovely! This could be a souvenir piece or it could just be a piece made when this material was in style, like the 1970's. I really have no way of knowing. It is really quite pretty. The large leaf is carved from either abalone or concha shell. It has tumble polished nuggets of mother of pearl. I have one earring that does match the necklace. But alas, it is missing it's mate. But, I had these lovely carved mother of pearl pierced ars that look just fine with it. The necklace is approx. 23". The leaf is approx. 4"X3".
