North Brothers Yankee Ratchet Screwdriver No. 30A w/Box/Adapter

Quantity available: 1

This is a nice clean North Brothers Yankee No. 30A spiral ratchet screwdriver in very good condition. Marked "NORTH BROTHERS MFG. CO. DIVISION OF STANLEY TOOLS YANKEE NO. 30A PHILA. PA. PAT. DEC. 11, 23 MADE IN UNITED STATES OF AMERICA" This is the medium sized one, (16" long overall without the bit in it, fully extended). There is no sign of use or wear on the handle, 99% like new, the "YANKEE" trade mark name clearly marked on the handle. The exterior of the main shaft is black oxide plated brass, very light wear, clean, no rust or damage, very light wear. Some Yankee screwdrivers are spring loaded in the spiral section, (rapid return, like the No. 130A) this one is not, works fine, just as it was designed to function. You can use this screwdriver with or without spiral or ratchet, using the adjustment setting on the main shaft, and with or without ratchet drive also as there is a three position switch for ratcheting with an lock in the center. This is a nice clean 1950's model! The original box is solid enough to hold the driver and bits, but has been taped on the edge and in the middle at various times over the years. Some green paper, and most of the labels can still be seen, and has a good end label, some stains, and some minor dust and dirt noted, the bottom has less tape and is in good condition. The bits are removeable, and has a 9/32" or .280" diameter shank, and will except that size in original Yankee tips (2 slot bits included), and the Phillips adapter bit (Ref. Number is T5630A), of which one is included in this purchase along with some various hex bits to fit it. The adapter and hex bits are new, and the slot bits are in very good used condition. A very nice medium sized spiral ratcheting screwdriver!
