Art Nouveau Wall Lights ( Sconces ) by Georges de Kerveguen

This is a pair of delightful patinated bronze wall lights by Georges de Kerveguen (French, -1893), sometimes referred to as Les Souffleur.  Signed G. de Kerveguen.  13.75 in tall and 9 in wide.  They have European standard sockets and are in need of new wiring.  May be fitted with U.S. standard sockets and wiring for a modest fee.  Provenance:  Sotheby's.  

The artist is known for his figurative bronze sculpture and figurative lighting, including wall appliques like this pair and table lamps. A pair similar to ours in unpatinated bronze were offered in Christie's sales in London on November 7, 2007, in lot 83.  It carried an estimate of 4,000-5,000 BP and sold for 5,000 BP.
