Art Deco Iron Mounted Blown-Out Glass Vase Attributed to Pierre D'Avesn for Verreries d'Art Lorrain, Daum
This lovely Art Deco period glass vase in mottled red with purple and green, circa 1920s, is mounted in wrought iron frame. Measures 12.25 in tall and 5.5 in across. Good condition, with light scratches, scuffs, and oxidatio to the iron, all consistent with age.
We believe this is a work by Pierre D'Avesn for the Daum Croismare Glassworks near Luneville, known as Verreries D'Art Lorrain, a subsidiary of Daum, where he worked from 1927 to 1932. Works from this period were signed in the metal, Val in script, Lorrain or P. d'Avesn, but we have not found a signature on the glass nor the metal.
