Rolls Razor Hone Guide Box

Unavailable

This is a 1920's era Rolls Razor blade hone and strop for keeping a keen sharpening edge on razor blades.  The box is metal with 2 removeable flat panels, one has the hone stone attached to it, the other should have a leather strop material inserted, but in this case the leather piece is missing, the hone stone is well attached and in very good condition.  The push button releases for the flat panels are in good shape and the mechanism inside the box to hold the razor blades in place is in good working order.  The writing on the blade holder says "BEST SHEFFIELD EDGES".  The nickle-silver plating is about 85% intach, some staining or darkening showing.  The main box has one lightly dented corner that doesn't effect the removal of the flat panels or any other moving part, barely noticeable.  It is marked with logo, name and patent dates, as shown in the photos, plus there is a serial number on one side as well.  A very well constructed device!
