Rare Webster Sewing Machine Compact Size in Cabinet with Knee Control
Rare Webster Sewing Machine Compact Size in Cabinet with Knee Control. This is a really great compact machine in a diminutive cabinet with a pressure knee control. The finish in the iron is brown textured mat also known as Crinkle Finsih. Durring WWII the stuff needed to make the mirror finish was in short supply so this type of finshed was used on this machine, Kenmores and well as Singers. And this finish is rare. . It has a cool industrial area look and feel. The knee control is idea as it keeps your foot from getting tired and cramped. The cabinet door with a space to store bobbins, needles and cords. The machine is all original. The cabinet needs refinishing. The machine works great. I have used it several times. Due to the smaller size of the cabinet and machine it can fit well into small spaces. This machine is different in that the threading takes place in the front of the machine rather then the side. The Webster machine is from The Canadian Sewing Machine Company Ltd was based in Hamilton, Ontario and was run by inventors George Webster Jr. and John F Webstet
