Miniature paperweights from the original makers of glass to the kings in France of 1767, these green, blue, red, opaque canes also called millefiori paperweight technique, are set in 14kt gold. One of the greatest glassworks of all time, Saint Louis, located in Moselle, Lorraine, France, began producing crystal paperweights in the 1840s. They continued producing fine paperweights until about 1867 . Domed, circular form, enclosing tiny millefiori canes arranged in concentric circles; a tiny blue- rimmed pink cane in the center, bearing the blue letters "SL" in white fields; encircled by a ring of white six-pointed star canes and a ring of red, white and blue ribbed canes; On the back is a gold circular plate or cartouche, hallmarked "CM" in a rectangle with a rose or flower between the letters. . These fine 14kt gold cufflinks look as if they have never been worn. Perfect accessory for a Wedding especially in Paris where all the romance seems to be! Never to be exactly duplicated, these are a rare treasure and an exquisite and fine gift!
