Primitive Gothic Hanging Shelf / Rack
The hanging shelf has a lot of structural character. The horizontal shelf is attached to the vertical side pieces with rectangular pegged joints. There are 12 rectangular holes across the front of the horizontal shelf about 1 - 1.25 inches wide, which could accommodate pipes or large spoons. There is a vertical compartment in the center of the shelf with a cut-out circle on the front. The front apron, the side pieces, and the cubbyhole compartment have hand-cut edges which are Gothic in design. The hanging shelf appears to be made from hardwood boards which have been joined together with nails and the side pegs.
Condition is good. The left side piece is attached to the front apron with a nail but has become loose where the shelf peg fits into it. It is serviceable as is, but could be made sturdier by some glue. There is a split in the wood on the front of the cubbyhole, but the area remains stable and secure. Please refer to the 4 photographs for general appearance and condition. Shipping / packaging will be $30 - $60, based upon the zip code of the buyer.
