Layaway available. If you grew up with this girl in the 50s than you know how well loved she is by many little girls of that time period and still well loved TODAY. She is Poor Pitiful Pearl by Brookglad. This is the 1st version of the doll that was made. The other versions were done by Horsman, Glad Toy Co and Tri-Star. Poor Pitiful Pearl was the first sad doll to become popular. The ragged dress, head scarf and quizzical look were copied from a cartoon by William Steig, a cartoonist for the New Yorker Magazine. This Pearl is 12" tall. She is in very nice condition. Working sleep eyes with all lash. Over all good color. She has no haircuts. wears original clothing and original undewear. Has her original box and has her original paper pamphlet which shows inside how to style her hair differently and gave little girls the opportunity to purchase more outfits for the doll. She also comes with her authentic blue party dress, white stockings and white shoes. Her white socks have a couple of holes but that is an easy fix. Party dress is nice with good color. She is display ready and does not look to have been played with much. Her box has protected her well over the many years and has kept her clean. Box is in good strong condition. Every year around the holidays I have multiple requests for the special dolly. SO HERE SHE IS>>>>>put her on layaway now and have her in time for the holidays. She is a WOW kind of gift for the little girl that grew up with Pearl. I accept Paypal only.
