This magnificent armchair, 20th century, is modeled after the chair excavated from the tomb of Tutankhamun, and features a back splat carved and painted with the 'boy-pharaoh' and consort, and is bordered byinscriptions and decorative motifs, with crowned snakes in high relief, arms formed by crowned Horus-like figures and fronted by lion heads tapering to paw-form terminals. The surfaces are hand-painted and applied with gold leaf beneath a clear coat.  Measures 42" tall and approximately 30" wide and 21" deep.
