This opalescent glass charger depicting three fish in relief by Pierre d' Avesn, circa 1930, is in excellent condition with no visible cracks or losses.  Measures 12 in (30.5 cm) across and 1.9 in (4.8 cm) tall.   Marked D'AVESN FRANCE.  The artist, Pierre Girre (1901-1990), worked for Rene Lalique as a young man and designed their famous Serpent and Tourbillons vases.   He left in 1926 to create his own designs at Cristallerie de Saint-Remi ( Sevres ) under the pseudonym, Pierre d' Avesn.   In 1930 he became Director of the molded glass works at Daum Freres in Croismare.    From 1937 onward he worked for Verreries des Andelys Holophane S.A., and from 1940s onward he operated independently with pieces made by Sevres.
