Pair Royal Vienna Style Porcelain Vases Depicting Roman Goddess Diana

Unavailable

Our fantastic pair of large (29.5 in, 75 cm) glazed porcelain vases feature extensive gilded and hand-painted decorations, including cartouches depicting Diana, the Roman goddess of the hunt.  Each standing on separate stands. Underside of each stand carries the underglaze mark of a blue shield over the number 1, and the vases marked with number 2.

Additional images forwarded upon request.

Dating from circa 1900, each is in good condition. The tail of a serpent is missing from one vase. There are small chip losses at the base of each urn, and each stand has some age cracks and rubbing wear to the gilded edges, with one corner in particular has a noticeable loss. The tops of the bases are uneven and the vases do not sit flush with the base. Bolts connecting vases with their bases could be tightened.
