Late nineteenth to early twentieth century hand cast African leopards from Benin. These leopards, although a pair, are individually different upon close inspection. The leopard's smile in one has quite a different slant than the other. The spots on both are in different positions. The castings in spots are a bit rough [at the inner belly opening and at the bottom of the feet]. These were obvious sand casts, completely hand made, and each cat is unique. Dimensions: 18" in height, 17" in length from curve of tail to front paw, width 8.5" at the hind legs.
