Unavailable
Pair of portraits American circa 1830 in original frames. Wonderfully executed pair in distinctive dress, circa 1828-1835. Both paintings are in original condition with original varnish still intact with just surface cleaning. The portrait of the gentleman has a period bird cage bridge for support of the board on the back. [This is a fairly common early 19th Century –mid 19th Century method of de-stressing the board from future damage.] The female portrait can be seen from reverse in its original board and original frame. A striking example of Americana early 19th Century. Dimensions: 29” by 34” framed each.
