Our magnficent pair of antique gilt bronze sconces in the Louis XVI style, modeled after the original design by Jean Charles Delafosse (1734–1789) feature two electrified candles on arm with berry vine motif, and a columnar form standard decorated with ram mask and surmounted by an urn with flame finial. With modern wiring and candelabra size sockets and five inch plastic candle covers, ready for installation and use. In good condition. There are scratches and mounts are just a little loose, but each is structurally sound. Candle covers are worn and discolored. We will be happy to replace with a material, style and color of our customer's choosing.

Delafosse was one of the most admired architects and designers of the Louis XVI period.  His lighting, wall art and table ornament designs regularly appear at major auction, and reside in the collections of museums worldwide.
