Pair Meissen Style Bronze Mounted Porcelain Parrot Figurines

Unavailable

Our pair of antique polychrome Paris or German porcelain parrot figures feature gilt bronze pedestals in the Louis XV style.  Each marked with blue crossed arrows underglaze on rear.   In good condition.  Restorations include repairs to one tail and small chip losses to some flowers and one beak.  There is noticeable surface dirt on the bronze, consistent with age.

The blue crossed arrows mark is believed to have originated with Vincent Dubois of Paris in the late 18th to early 19th century.  The mark was also used by porcelain makers in Desdren and elsewhere in Germany, including Kalk, the firm that operated in Eisenberg (Thuringia) from 1880 through 1930.
