Louis Philippe Neoclassical Champleve Enamel Inlaid Pier Tables and Mirrors
This every unusual pair of matching ebonized wooden consoles and mirrors in the French Louis Philippe style feature extraordinary inlaid red, blue and white champleve enamel decorations on the frieze, designed to mimic the appearance of Boulle marquetry using brass and tortoiseshell. Gilt bronze mounts decorate the frieze, including rosettes, beading, and neoclassical mask at center, and ropes of brozne with guilloche motif decorate each leg which ends in toupe bronze feet. Maker is unknown and we believe the set dates from the 1910s or 1920s. Mirrors measure 54 x 24 inches and the tables measure 30.5 in tall and 29 in across. Item ha-1832.
