$22,000.00
Quantity available: 1

Our client's magnificent pair of porcelain vases with covers in the Sevres Louis XV style feature gilt bronze mounts including coiled serpent handles and opposign garlands of roses,  and gilt designs including the Louis XV coat of arms depicting three fleur-de-lis in shield surrounded by the chains of the orders of Saint Michael and the Holy Spirit. Original covers signed "Chateau de Versailles" and "1777" with the Sevres hallmark.

The inspiration for this design may come from a similarly mounted and decorated green porphyry vases exhibited at the Chateau de Versailles in 1793 and now in the Louvre (inventory OA 5270), and depicted in Gilt Bronzes in the Louvre, Daniel Daniel Alcouffe et al., Dijons, 2004, p. 226.
