Pair Large Dresden German Porcelain Parrots Figurines

Our beautiful and very large (27.5 in, 70 cm) pair of Dresden porcelain parrots are seated upon tree trunks with berries (cherries) and feature vibrant glazed finishes. From Sachsische Porzellan Manufaktur Dresden (Saxon Porcelain Manufactory in Dresden) and dating from the first (or second) quarter of the twentieth century.  One carries the SP Dresden" trademark stamp in blue that came into use in 1902.  In good condition, with some missing tail feathers and old restorations.

The firm was founded by Carl-Johann Gottlob Thieme (?-1888) in 1872 under the trade name Sächsische Porzellan-Fabrik Carl Thieme zu Potschappel.  After his passing the firm was renamed Sachsische Porzellan Manufaktur Dresden.
