Pair Gilt and Silvered Bronze Busts of Gods Hermes and Ares

These gilt and silvered bronze busts of the Greek Olympian gods, Hermes and Ares, date from the late nineteenth to early twentieth century, and are of continental origin. Neither is signed. Both have traces of wear to the silver patina, mostly on the drapery edges, and the silver is tarnished throughout. Variegated rouge marble bases have some minor chips at the edges., and there are some light scratches to the gilt socles. The Roman equivalent Roman gods are Mercury and Mars. ( hantiques )
