Best Offer
Quantity available: 1

Our client's pair gilt bronze candelabra, 26 1/4 by 12 1/2 by 12 1/2 inches, are modeled after an original design by Jean-Desmosthene Dugourc (1749-1825), the important French architect and designer to the French court (including the duc d' Orleans, the brother of King Louis XVI), and date from the mid to late nineteenth century.

Each in good condition. There are scratches, rubbing wear, surface dirt in crevices, slight bends and a few mounts that are a little loose.

For a similar pair of candelabra, see lot 162, a pair of French Gilt Bronze Candelabra After the Model by Dugourc, Late 18th to Early 19th Century, which was offered in the Sotheby's auction in London, July 5, 2006, with an estimate of 20,000-30,000 BP, and which sold for 57,600 BP including buyer's premium.
