Pair Large Chinese Enamel Cranes on Stands

Unavailable

Our pair of Qing style Chinese red crowned cranes date from the early 20th century.  They are fashioned in two sections and stand upon rockwork wooden stands with black stained finish, and feature feathers in green, blue, grey and lavender enamels, and red caps.  Each measures approximately 28 inches tall.

Each in good condition.  There is a dent to the side of the body of one crane, approximately 5 by 4 inches and about 1/8 of an inch deep.  There is a small, shallow chip to the red crown of one, and some variation in the color of the patinas.  There is rubbing wear especially on the top of each beak and some noticeable enamel losses to the top of one beak.  There is embedded surface dirt in the spaces between the toes of each foot.  There is a split to the joint between leg and body in both, but otherwise no other cracks or signs of restoration.
