Pair Antique Meissen Bronze Mounted Porcelain Vases with Ornithological Motif

Unavailable

Our beautiful pair of white porcelain vases date from the last quarter of the nineteenth century, and feature gilt bronze rocaille scroll mounts in the Louis XV style, and hand-painted decorations including birds, trees, flowers and insects.  Each with matching lids with dog form finials.  Each approximately 18 by 6 by 5.5 inches. With Meissen mark underneath.  One lid has an attachment repair at the base of the pull, showing significant repairs under black light. The bronze mounted base on the other has been re-mounted with traces of adhesive visible on the underside.  Visible wear to the gilding on the rims and the lids fit imprecisely. Otherwise in very good condition.
