Pair Antique Bagues Baroque Style Gilt Metal and Rock Crystal Sconces
Our pair of antique glass and rock crystal sconces in the Baroque style, popularized by Bagues of Paris, date from the verly early 20th century. Each pproximately 26 by 12 inches. They have two candle arms and a standard of glass in the form of urns with collar of faceted crystals, backed by silver foil, with sockets and wiring, ready for installation.
Candle holders have been replaced. There is discoloration to the silver foil and the bands of faceted crystals at top of the urns are loose on each fixture. There is rubbing wear to the gilding and a considerable amount of surface grime in some areas, particularly where the arms extend upward from the urns. There is a visible crack near the top of one urn, and flake chips from the rear of the top of one, and from the bottom of another. There is a clean break across one of the horizontal ribs in the lower section of one. It is almost impossible to notice unless viewing closely. One glass leaf is bent so that it is facing inward.
Despite all the minor damages, they are magnificent and none of the damages are particularly noticeable.
