Toolmakers Precision Vise 3.37 inch Capacity

Unavailable

This is a very nice, unique precision tool maker's vise with capacity to hold a part up to 3.37 between the jaws. The overall size of the vise block are 7.8" long x 3" high x 2.87" wide. There are (2) tapped holes per side, or (1) tapped hole per jaw side. Please note the DUAL ACTION threaded design that allows the knurled handle to remain in one position while either opening or closing the moving jaw!  This design not only moves the jaw smoothly but also applies enough pressure by hand tightening to hold a part in place while surface grinding the part or even other precision machining applications too!  I have only seen one other of this design previously, a fellow toolmaker had made it himself.  It is possible that this is the same vise, but there is no name on this one that I have seen.  This vise has been inspected, very accurate to less than .0002" per inch flat and square.  It is made of hardened tool steel (most likely A-6).  There is no rust note, some minor staining (small spots), otherwise normal variations in finish.  It is heavy duty, weight is 13 pounds.
