Oil on canvas signed Edith Morehouse [American, 1899-1979], "Still Life with Oriental Figure and Vase". Morehouse was a local Garden City, NY artist who studied with Robert Henri, Irving Wiles, and Frederick Bridgman. She taught art classes out of her studio and is known for painting the grand dames of the North Shore of Long Island [Gold Coast], such as the Paysons, Dukes, etc. This work is a still life dated 1939. Dimensions: 26" x 23" framed.
