Louis XVI Sevres Style Garniture Porcelain and Bronze Mantel Clock and Candelabra

Unavailable

Our bronze and porcelain garniture clock and candelabra from A.D. Mougin of Paris dates from circa 1900. The clock with floral and aviary finial stands above a porcelain baluster form with enamel dial with cabochon Roman numeral marks and hand-painted enhanced transfer print of cupid, floral wearth and basket and musical motif including bagpipes. with lion masks at the sides with tassel pulls, set upon a neoclassical base with scrolls, raised on petal relief discs and ball feet.  Movement is  "A.D. Mougin Deux Medailles," and with numbers 7235, and 39.  The matching four light candelabra share similar design, with porcelain vases with white glaze and Rococo scenes after two paintings by Jean-Honore Fragonard (French 1732-1806): "Blind Man's Bluff (Le  colin maillard) and "The See Saw.".  Both signed "F. Gallot," with rears with lavender and wheat color landscapes. Clock: 19 x 10.5 x 5.5 inches. Our price is firm.

In good condition overall, with surface dirt, rubbing wear and scratches, oxidation and slight bends to the candle arms and lean to the clock, all consistent with age.  Pendulum is present but we don't know the working order of the the movement. Will be glad to provide a full report on its working condition for interested buyers. Please note, we do not guarantee the working condition of clock movements, as clocks commonly require adjustment by a horologist after shipment.
