Antique Royal Doulton Kingsware Tam O'Shanter/Witch Whisky/Whiskey Jug 1911

$500.00
Quantity available: 1

Hard-to-find "Tam O'Shanter & the Witch" jug, made for Greenlee's Claymore Whisky by Royal Doulton.  Characters based on a poem by Robert Burns in which the witch chases after and pulls the tail from the horse.  Made in Kingsware glaze, which is highly reflective, as you can see from the photos.  Marked "AC 1911" on back of neck.  Bulbous form measures 7"h x 4.5"d.  Piece has allover crazing of the glaze (as is common with this type), and a chip to the rim near the handle, possible from de-corking. Perfect pieces sell in the 1500.00 range.  Still displays very nicely.  Sold as is.  Inglenook Antiques...Established 1989.
