The Chancay were a pre-Hispanic archeological civilization that developed between the valleys of Fortaleza, Pativilca, Supe, Huaura, Chancay, Chillón, Rimac, and Lurín on the central coast of Peru from about 1000 to 1470 AD.

 

CONDITION: Showing its age and use with a nice patina, one minor horizontal crack, and a chip in one ear. No repairs or restorations.

 

MEASUREMENTS: Length 13,4cm (5 1/4 in). Height: 7cm (2 3/4 in).

 

PROVENANCE: The object came from a private Canadian collection of antiques and was sold by a reputable Canadian auction house in the 1980s.
