Antique, late 19th - early 20th century, extremely well hand-painted, oil on canvas, portrait of the Ashkenazi Jewish man wearing an identifiable Eastern European Jewish everyday garment, kapote coat, and the visor hat Kashkettel – Kasket.

The painting is illegibly signed by the artist in the lower-left corner, possibly "K.Reichert" the painting canvas is stretched on its original wooden stretcher frame secured by hand-forged iron nails.

 

CONDITION: The painting is in its original condition, with an old patina. Free of repairs or restorations. The wooden frame with age splits on the corner's joints and old crack, as a result of the age and dryness of the wood, one of the corners stretching wedge is missing.
