Our wonderful antique silver kashkul (beggar's bowl), likely dating from the late 19th century, features an array of inlaid turquoise and red coral stones, and chased and applied silver decorations, including the images of a birdlike deity, likely depicting Garuda, with metal hanging chain. Hangs over 20 inches. Weight is 16.51 ozt tw.  In good condition, with some small cracks to various stones and small losses, surface grime in crevices and considerable tarnish, all consistent with age. Of Turkish or Persian origin.
