Buffalo China restaurant ware comport in the "Panama-Pacific" pattern, top-marked with the International Mercantile Marine logo.  Made expressly for Kniffin & Demarest (distributors) of New York in 1920.  The International Mercantile Marine Company was the parent company of the White Star Line, as well as the Red, and owned by J.P. Morgan.  Measures 8"d x 4.25"h.  No large chips or cracks, but has several pottery and glaze flaws, fading and surface wear.  Sold as is.  Still displays well as a significant and rare piece of history!  Inglenook Antiques...Established 1989.
